The Office of the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security recently jointly issued the Key Tasks for Improving Universal Digital Literacy and Skills in 2024. The work focuses on six key tasks, including cultivating high-level composite digital talents, accelerating the bridging of the digital divide, supporting a stronger, better and bigger digital economy, expanding smart and convenient digital life scenarios, creating a positive, healthy, and orderly cyberspace, strengthening support and coordination.

The work points out that we should aim to help improve the overall quality of the population, serve the construction of a modern industrial system, and promote the common prosperity of all people, achieve new results in improving digital literacy and skills of the whole people and support Chinese-style modernization with high-quality population development around do well in improving the digital literacy and skills of the whole people this year.

The work have clearly defined the annual work goals that the development of digital literacy and skills for the entire population in China will reach a new level, the digital literacy and skills cultivation system will be more sound, the construction of a digital accessible environment will be comprehensively promoted, the digital divide between groups will be further narrowed, the intelligent and convenient digital life will be of higher quality, the cyberspace will be more standardized and orderly by the end of 2024 so as to help improve the overall quality of China’s population in the digital age, support the construction of a strong network country and the strategy for developing a quality workforce.
